Three canvases. Three sports. One long day. Each one holds a single block of colour and a single sweep of paint — the cold blue of open water, the dry olive of the road, the burnt red of the last few kilometres. The paint is thick and left exactly where it landed. Effort rarely looks tidy. Then look closer. A swimmer, a cyclist, a runner, each no bigger than a fingernail, standing at the edge of something far bigger than they are. That is the whole sport in one image: a small person, a long way to go, and no way through it but across. Comes as a set of three. Hang them in this order — swim, bike, run — and your eye travels the race.
